JIPMAT 2022 Analysis
The Joint Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (JIPMAT) was conducted successfully on 3rd July, 2022 from 3 PM to 5:30 PM for admissions into IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya in the CBT mode.
The exam contained 100 questions divided into three sections –Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude which was the same as last year. There was no sectional time limit.
The difficulty level of JIPMAT 2022 could be considered as easy compared to last year.
The Quantitative Aptitude section had 33 questions with an easy to moderate level of difficulty having most questions from arithmetic. Questions consisted of simple topics from Ratios, Time & Distance, Profit & Loss, Time & work, Number system, Trigonometry, Logarithms, Algebra, Heights and distance, Probability etc. A good number of questions were from Time & DIstance and Ratios. There were no questions from higher maths and most of the questions were direct.
An attempt of 25 to 28 could be considered a good attempt in this section.
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning section had 33 questions and this section too can be considered as easy to moderate a little on the lengthier side. There were questions from DI, Syllogisms, Blood relations, Coding-Decoding, Direction Sense, Statement-Conclusion and Data sufficiency with few questions that were calculation intensive.
An attempt of 26 to 30 can be considered a good attempt in this section.
Verbal ability with 34 questions was on the easy side too and could be easily attempted in less than 30 minutes. There was one Reading Comprehension passage comprising 5 questions and the remaining questions were from Idioms and Phrases, Para jumbles, Sentence jumbles, Synonyms and antonyms, Active and passive voice, Sentence improvement, Spellings and Grammar part errors, the usual suspects from Verbal Ability. It can be said that Grammar and Vocabulary dominated this section.
An Attempt of 28-31 can be considered a good attempt for this section.
Overall, an attempt of 80-85 or more can be considered to be good for this year’s JIPMAT.
Note that JIPMAT Score has a 60% weightage for IIM Jammu and 70% for IIM Bodhgaya, with the remaining weightage going to the performance in Class 10th and Class 12th.
All the best!!
