SET BBA - 2024

Test 2 of the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) was conducted on 11^th May 2024 for the admission to various programmes offered by various institutes affiliated to Symbiosis International University, Pune.

Similar to what was seen in the 1^st test of SET that was conducted on 5^th May, the examination consisted of 60 questions, spread across four sections, and had to be completed within a 60-minute timeframe. Each section carried a different focus: General English, Quantitative, General Awareness, and Analytical and Logical Reasoning, with the first three sections comprising 16 questions each and the last containing 12 questions.

All questions carried 1 mark each, and there was no penalty for incorrect answers. There was no sectional time limit, allowing candidates the flexibility to switch between sections.

The exam was Easy-Moderate overall, with GK being the relatively toughest section with its difficulty level being rates Moderate-Difficult

Analysis of the individual sections is as below. This is largely similar to that of the 1^st test, as both papers were very similar in nature.

General English

The English section consisted of 16 questions, divided into various subsections focusing on different aspects of language. There were 5 questions each based on vocabulary and spelling, and grammar, followed by 3 questions on proverbs and idioms, 2 questions on tenses, and 1 question related to figures of speech. The overall difficulty level of the test was categorized as Easy to Moderate.

A good attempt was considered to be answering about 11-13 questions correctly.

Quantitative Ability

The examination featured 16 questions, segmented into different mathematical categories. There were 3 questions on basic number operations, 7 on arithmetic mathematics covering topics such as Time and Work, Percentages, Ratio-Proportion-Volume, and Profit and Loss, and others. Modern mathematics, geometry, and algebra were represented with 1 question each, and data interpretation comprised 2 questions. The difficulty level of the test was rated as Easy to Moderate.

A good attempt was identified as successfully answering approximately 12 to 14 questions.

General Awareness

The test consisted of 16 questions focused on general knowledge, divided into two categories: 11 questions were on static GK, and 5 questions covered current affairs. The overall difficulty level of the test was classified as difficult.

A good attempt was considered to be correctly answering about 5 to 7 questions.

Analytical & Logical Reasoning

The examination featured 12 questions, each targeting a different area of logical reasoning. The distribution included 1 question each on clocks, calendars, number series, blood relations, and linear arrangement. Coding and decoding were represented with 3 questions, verbal reasoning with 2 questions, and miscellaneous topics also contributed 2 questions. The difficulty level of the test was categorized as Easy to Moderate.

Aiming for a good attempt, participants were expected to correctly answer around 8 to 10 of these questions.

In conclusion, the test comprised a total of 60 questions, with the overall difficulty level ranging from Easy to Moderate. Achieving a score of 40 or can be considered a good attempt for this examination.
