There was no change in the question paper pattern and the marking scheme as compared with TS ICET 2023. The question paper consisted of 200 questions to be answered in 150 minutes. There were three sections - Analytical Ability consisting of 75 questions, Mathematics section which had 75 questions, and Communication Ability with 50 questions. There is no negative marking.
To help you understand this year’s test paper better, we provide you with a comprehensive analysis and solutions, below.
Note: The paper presented the pattern of jumbled questions within the sections i.e., questions of one particular test area were not given in one place. The same format was followed for TS ICET 2022 and TS ICET 2023 as well.
Reasoning: (Problem-Solving, Coding-Decoding and Date, Time and Arrangement)
This section had 20 questions on Series and Analogies, in each of the three slots. The questions were based on Number Series, Letter Series, Number Analogies, Letter Analogies and Number + Letter Analogies combination. Most of the questions were of easy-moderate difficulty level.
The number of questions from the odd man out topic, was five, across each of the slots. The difficulty level of these questions can be rated as moderate.
There were ten questions on Coding-Decoding in all the slots – five set-based questions and five individual questions. The difficulty level of these questions can be rated as Easy to moderate.
Questions on topics, Clocks, Calendars, Blood Relations, Directions sense (Only in one slot), Symbols and Notations, Arrival& departures and Seating Arrangement etc. were easy to moderate.
Overall, this section was easy to moderate

Data Sufficiency:
Most of the questions that appeared in Data Sufficiency were from the topics of Numbers and Geometry-Mensuration. Questions from topics of Simple Equations, Ratio-Proportion-Variation, Quadratic Equations, Progressions, Averages, Mixtures and Alligations, Sets, etc were also asked. Also, there were up to 3 questions which were based on different concepts of Reasoning.
Overall, the Data Sufficiency part of the exam can be rated as easy-moderate, with half of the questions considered as easy.

Data Analysis:
This part had three sets in each of the three slots. Two sets of Data Interpretation were present in all three slots with six questions. The data was represented in the form of Tables and Pie diagrams. In one of the slots, there was a pie-chart and table combination set, which was tougher when compared to the remaining sets.
There were four questions which were based on Venn Diagrams in each of the three slots.
This part of the exam was easy, less calculation-based and with no tricky questions at all.
Overall, this section can be classified as easy to moderate with the majority of the questions falling under the moderate category. Most of the questions in this section test the basic understanding of concepts.
A maximum number of questions in this section were from the topics of Numbers, Mensuration, Percentages, Profit and Loss, Indices and Surds, Time and Work, and Time and Distance. A few questions on Indices and Surds require simplification skills and hence avoiding the theme would have saved time. The questions from arithmetic-based topics like Profit and Loss, Time and Distance, were easy. Some questions in this part can be solved directly by substituting the given data in the relevant formulae.
Overall, the section on Mathematical Ability in this exam was easy to moderate.

The Communication Ability section of the test carried a total of 50 questions in each slot of the exam, of which 40 exclusively tested the English language skills of test takers. Questions asked here tested various aspects of grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.
TG ICET, this year was on the same lines as the previous year, without any element of surprise. All the slots carried fifteen vocabulary-based questions, ten functional grammar questions, and fifteen reading comprehension questions.
The test taker was evaluated in the vocabulary section on one-word substitutes, synonyms, antonyms, phrasal verbs, idioms, and fill-in-the-blanks. Likewise, the functional grammar section comprised articles, prepositions, and tenses as fill-in-the-blanks, along with voice questions. Similarly, reading comprehension consisted of three passages, with the word length ranging from 125 to 250 words. The Reading comprehension section carried passages on science and technology, narrative or a speech, and one on sociology.
The difficulty level of all the slots, for both days, could be graded from easy to moderate.
The first slot, conducted on June 05, 2024, was the easiest one. A well-prepared aspirant would have attempted all forty questions, definitely not less than 37, and should be able to score around 35 marks easily. The second slot, conducted on June 5, 2024, was a little more difficult than that of the first slot, but the overall communication ability section, English language, can be rated as an easy one. An aspirant with decent preparation would have attempted 35 questions and should be able to score nothing less than 32 marks.
The first slot conducted on June 06, 2024, could be rated as an easy-to-moderate one. A well-prepared enthusiast would have attempted around 32 questions and should be able to score a minimum of 30 marks comfortably.
