SBI Clerk 2025 Notification Out! 6589 (Regular - 5180 and Backlog - 1409) Vacancies

SBI has announced  6589 (Regular - 5180 and Backlog - 1409) Junior Associate Vacancies (Customer Support & Sales) in Clerical Cadre. The exact dates of the Prelim Exam are not mentioned in notification. Preliminary Examination will be conducted tentatively in the month of September 2025 and Main Examination will be conducted tentatively in the month of November 2025

Everyone was expecting SBI to announce clerk vacancies in the range of 8k - 10k, but still 5000+ is a very big number and a golden opportunity for all bank job aspirants.

Some points worth noting are given below : 

1. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies. subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Exam 

2. Prelim Exam : No minimum qualifying marks are prescribed for individual test OR for aggregate score. Section wise marks will not be maintained.

3. Main Exam : Minimum qualifying marks on aggregate will be as decided by the bank. No minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects are prescribed. Section wise marks will not be maintained.

4. Wait List : A wait list of upto 50% of vacancies (state - category wise) will be maintained. Candidates will be released from this wait list on quarterly basis against non-joining and resignation of the current batch only. Wait list is valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of final result.

(1) Important Dates 

Online Registration of Application and payment of fee : 06.08.2025 TO 26.08.2025

Dates of Prelim Examination : September 2025

Date of Main Examination: November 2025

(2) Eligibility Criteria :

(a) Age(As on 01-04-2025) - Min 20 years and Max 28 Years (Relaxation for reserved categories as per rules)

(b) Min educational qualification(As on 31.12.2025) : Graduation 

Test of knowledge of official and/or local language: Those who qualify for selection and produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ certificate evidence having studied the specified opted local language will not be subjected to any Language test. In case of others (qualified for selection), a specified opted local language test will be conducted after provisional selection but before joining. Candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be offered an appointment. Candidates not found proficient in specified opted local language would be disqualified.

(3) Selection Procedure and Structure of Examination (ONLINE):

The selection process will consist of an on-line test (Preliminary & Main exam) and test of specified opted local language.

Phase -1 : Preliminary Examination:

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1- hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

 There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. 

  Phase – III: Local Language Proficiency Test: 

Provisionally selected candidates not having studied (in class 10th or 12th) any of the specified local language of the State applied, will have to appear in Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT). The pattern of the test will be as follows:   

Non Verbal Objective Test - 3 Passages ----> 15 Questions ----> 15 Marks

Non verbal Subjective Test - 3 Passages ----> 15 Questions ----> 15 Marks

Verbal Test -----> 20 Marks

(4) Probation : Min period of six months. Newly recruited Junior Associates will be required to complete e-lessons as prescribed by the bank during the probation, for getting confirmed in the Bank, failing which their probation will be extended till completion of the same.

(5) How to apply: 

Candidates can apply online and no other mode of application will be accepted. Candidates will be required to register themselves online through Bank's website https://bank.sbi/web/careers/current-openings OR https://www.sbi.co.in/web/careers/current-openings - Recruitment of Junior Associates 2025. After registration candidates are required to pay the requisite application fee through online mode by using debit card/ credit card/ Internet Banking.   

(6) Application fees / Intimation charges: 


(a) NIL for  SC/ ST/ PwBD/ XS/DXS candidates. 

(b) Rs. 750 /- for General, EWS and OBC
