Analysis of IBPS PO (Prelim) Online exam held on 24th Aug 2025 (Shift 1)
The analysis of the IBPS PO 2025 Prelim exam held on the 24th of August 2025 (Shift 1) has been presented below.
This year, IBPS has changed the pattern with respect to the marks allotted to each section. In the instructions, it was mentioned that all questions carry equal marks.
The following is the sequence of sections that appeared in the exam.

As per feedback received from our students who appeared for this exam, the exam can be rated as easy to moderate.
Quantitative Aptitude:
This section can be rated as moderate. No new question types/patterns of questions were asked in this shift of the exam.
There were fifteen questions (3 sets) on Data Interpretation (five questions each on the Table, Bar Graph (2 Bars) and caselet). The questions based on the Table were calculation-based and time-consuming.
The table contains information on four companies, A, B, C, and D - the total males in column I and the number of female managers in column II. It was also mentioned that the difference between the number of males and females is 130. Also, it was mentioned that in companies B & C there were more than 510 employees.
The bar graph contains two bars and provides information on five events. The first bar gives information on the number of persons registered for the event, and the second bar gives information on the number of persons who participated in the event.
The Caselet was Venn diagram-based. There were two schools, A’ and ‘B’. The total number of students in each school, info on students who like Arts, students who like music and students who like both.
There were five questions on Approximations and four questions on Quadratic Comparisons. Wrong Number Series. These questions were easy to solve.
Individual questions from the Arithmetic topics were eleven in number. These were a combination of easy, moderate, and difficult ones. These questions were based on Ages, Profit & Loss, Simple and Compound Interest, Pipes & Cisterns, Time & Work, Mensuration, and Time and Distance etc.
A student could, therefore, have solved around 16 – 17 questions in 20 minutes, if he chose judiciously.

Reasoning:
This section has been given an 'Easy to Moderate' tag.
Out of the thirty-five questions in this section, twenty-three questions were on Puzzles.
- Two Row Arrangement (14 persons; 7 facing North and 7 facing South)
- Year-based puzzles (Base year 2025) + Variable
- Designation-based puzzle (6 persons + Variable (Country))
- Linear Arrangement (Certain number of persons, all facing North, 18 persons)
- Floor Arrangement (8 persons, 4 floors and 2 flats)
Questions on Puzzles were easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level.
There were three questions each on Inequalities (symbols and notations), Direction Sense, and Syllogisms (deductions - only a few). These questions were easy to solve.
There were three individual questions – Pair of Digits, Letter Odd one out and Meaningful word.
About 22 – 23 questions could be solved in 20 minutes. The topic-wise split, as reported by our students, is given below.

English Language:
This section has been tagged as 'Easy to Moderate’ by our students.
- The lone Reading Comprehension passage was conventional in its presentation and comprised eight questions, of which four were vocab questions (two on Synonym, one on Antonym and one on FIB). The passage was based on children speaking Bilingual languages Vs children speaking Multilingual languages.
- There were five questions on Grammatically Correct sentences (Three questions on finding the incorrect sentence and two questions on finding the correct sentence). These were easy to moderate to solve.
- There were five questions on Para Formation (6 sentences). These were moderate in nature and were based on Data Privacy on the mobile App.
- There were three questions each on Word usage (1 word, 3 usages), Word Replacement, Word Interchange (4 words) and fill in the Blank (Single Blank).
Thus, about 17 - 18 questions could be solved in 20 minutes in the English section. The break-up of the questions is as follows:

Overall: The paper was a combination of easy, moderate questions across all three sections and can hence be rated as 'Easy to Moderate’.
