The analysis of the IBPS PO 2025 Prelim exam held on the 24th of August 2025 (Shift 4) has been presented below.

This year, IBPS has changed the pattern with respect to the marks allotted to each section. In the instructions, it was mentioned that all questions carry equal marks.

The following is the sequence of sections that appeared in the exam:

  • English Language
  • Quantitative Aptitude

As per feedback received from our students who appeared for this exam, the exam can be rated as easy to moderate.

Quantitative Aptitude:

This section can be rated as moderate. No new question types/patterns of questions were asked in this shift of the exam.

There were twelve questions (2 sets) on Data Interpretation (six questions each on the Bar Graph (2 Bars) and Pie chart). The questions can be rated as easy to moderate.

The pie chart contains five sectors in percentage distribution, and the total value is given. The bar graph contains two bars. The first bar gives information on the number of laptops, and the second bar gives information on the number of desktops. In the note, the ratio of laptops to tablets was given.

There were three questions each on Approximations and Data Comparisons (2 Qty), and five questions on Missing Number Series. The questions on Approximations and Data Comparisons were easy, whereas the questions on Missing Number Series were easy to moderate in nature.

Individual questions from the Arithmetic topics were twelve in number. These were a combination of easy, moderate, and difficult ones. These questions were based on Ages, Profit & Loss, and Partnership, Simple and Compound Interest, Mensuration, Trains etc.

A student could, therefore, have solved around 17 – 18 questions in 20 minutes, if he chose judiciously.

Reasoning:

This section has been given an 'Easy to Moderate' tag.

Out of the thirty-five questions in this section, twenty-three questions were on Puzzles.

  • Linear Arrangement (7 persons; some facing North and some facing South)
  • Circular Arrangement (6 Persons + Variable (Animal), all facing the centre)
  • Box Arrangement (7 Boxes) + variable (colour)
  • Year-based Puzzle (Base Year 2025)
  • Comparisons (6 persons & their ages)

Questions on Puzzles were easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level.

There were four questions on Syllogisms (deductions; only a few) and five questions on Coding-Decoding (2-column). These questions were easy to solve.

There were three individual questions – Pair of Digits, Letter Odd one out and Meaningful word.

About 23 – 24 questions could be solved in 20 minutes.

English Language:

This section has been tagged as 'Easy to Moderate’ by our students.

  • The lone Reading Comprehension passage was conventional in its presentation and comprised nine questions, of which four were vocab questions (two on Synonym, one on Antonym and one on FIB). The words given were Benefit, Introduce, etc. The questions on Reading Comprehension were moderate.
  • There were six questions on the Cloze Test. Two blanks to be filled with a phrase and the remaining with words. These questions were easy to solve.
  • There were four questions on Grammatically Correct Sentences (Three questions were asked on finding the correct sentence, and one was based on finding the incorrect sentence). These were easy to moderate in nature.
  • There were three questions on Sentence Rearrangement and four questions on Phrase Replacement.
  • There were two questions each on Word Usage (1 word, 3 usages) and match the column (2 columns). In word usage, the words given were Sale, Ground etc.

Thus, about 16 - 17 questions could be solved in 20 minutes in the English section.

Overall: The paper was a combination of easy, moderate questions across all three sections and can hence be rated as 'Easy to Moderate’.
