IIM Bangalore Launches BSc Programs
The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has announced the launch of two new full-time, four-year undergraduate programmes under its School of Multidisciplinary Studies:
- BSc (Hons) in Economics (with a minor in Data Science and Business)
- BSc (Hons) in Data Science (with a minor in Economics and Business)
These residential programmes will be delivered at IIMB’s upcoming Jigani campus, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP).
Eligibility:
Age Requirements:
As of August 1 2026, applicants must be 20 years or younger.
Academic Requirements:
- Successful completion of Class XII or equivalent from a recognised board.
- Mathematics as a subject in Class XII is mandatory for both majors. Students should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in mathematics in Class X.

Selection Process:
The selection process involves two stages:
- Entrance test scores will be used as the primary criterion for the interview short-listing process.
- Final selection is based on a composite score comprising 60% of the entrance test and 40% of the personal interview.
Intake: Programme-wise Intake:
- BSc (Hons) in Economics – 40 students
- BSc (Hons) in Data Science – 40 students
Exam Fee:
The examination fee for the IIMB UG Admissions Test is ₹3,000 for General, EWS, and NC-OBC candidates, and ₹1,500 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
Programme Fee:
The annual programme fee is ₹8.5 lakhs per annum for the first two years. There will be a limited increase as approved by the IIMB Board in the third year. This fee includes tuition, hostel accommodation, and examination fees.
While mess charges are not included, they are managed on a cost-sharing basis. Students can expect an additional expense of approximately ₹8,000 – ₹10,000 per month. Please refer to the official website for the most current information on fees and other expenses.
