Analysis of IBPS PO/MT Main Exam 2025
The IBPS PO 2025 Mains Exam was held on 12th October 2025. The detailed analysis of the exam is presented below.
It has been reported by our students that this examination was moderate to difficult in terms of difficulty level. Questions in Reasoning, English, Data Analysis and Interpretation had a variable marking scheme, the details of which are presented in the detailed analysis given below.

The analysis of the above-mentioned session, as reported by our students, is given below.
(A) OBJECTIVE TEST:
I) Data Analysis and Interpretation:
According to the feedback received from our students who appeared for this exam, this section can be rated as moderate. There were fifteen questions carrying 2 marks each and twenty questions carrying 1 mark each.
Part A (Two Mark Questions):
- Table + Double Pie chart (3 Qs) – Difficult and time-consuming; data of Q1–Q4 represented in pies and private projects in a table with percentages.
- Caselet (3 Qs) – Based on three schools; moderate difficulty.
- One question each on Profit and Loss, Time and Distance and Mensuration.
- Three questions on Quadratic Comparisons with three equations – Moderate.
- One question on Data Sufficiency and two on Missing Number Series.
Part B (One Mark Questions): This part comprises Data Interpretation, Number Series, Data Sufficiency and Data Comparison.
- Table (4 Qs) – Profit amount of companies P, Q, R, S for 2021 and 2022.
- Missing Table (4–5 Qs) – Sales data of Chocolate and Vanilla ice cream with missing values.
- Bar Graph (4–5 Qs) – Sales of alcoholic and non-alcoholic sanitisers; ratio of males and females also given.
- Four Data Sufficiency (2 statements), two Number Series and 1–2 Data Comparison questions.

II) Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude:
This section has been labelled as 'Moderate to Difficult'. There were twenty questions carrying 2 marks each and twenty questions carrying 1 mark each.

- Circular + Linear Arrangement – 5 Qs
- Designation-based Puzzle (6 persons, posts, states, sports) – 5 Qs
- Direction Sense with Symbols – 5 Qs

- Input – Output – 5 Qs
- Data Sufficiency – 3 Qs
- Coding-Decoding (New Pattern) – 3 Qs
- Critical Reasoning – 7 Qs (Moderate to Difficult)

III) English Language:
This section can be rated as ‘Moderate’. There were five questions carrying two marks each and thirty questions with one mark each.

Part B (One Mark Questions):
- Reading Comprehension:
- Passage 1: ‘African Aviation’ – 10 Qs (3–4 on incorrect word usage).
- Passage 2: ‘Online Video Gaming’ – 3 Qs.
- Cloze Test: 5 Qs – Identify replacements for bold phrases.
- Fill in the Blanks: 5 Qs – One word fits all blanks.
- Match the Column: 3 Qs – Sentence connections and replacements.
- Para Summary: 3 Qs.

IV) General Awareness:
This section was the saving grace and can be rated as ‘Easy to Moderate’.
There were 15 questions with 2 marks each and 20 questions with one mark each. Most of the two-mark questions were based on RBI Circulars.

(B) Descriptive Test:
This section was conducted for 25 marks, with a time limit of 30 minutes, and comprised Comprehension and Essay Writing.
Essay topics (Choose any one) (250 to 300 words): 15 Marks
- Biodiversity
- The government has to protect the sensitive information of the public
Reading Comprehension (10 Marks): Based on Artificial Intelligence (Other countries Vs India).
OVERALL SUMMARY: The Reasoning and Data Analysis & Interpretation sections were moderate to difficult while the English and General/Economy/Banking Awareness sections were moderate.
