SEBI has released notifications for the following vacancies:

(A) Assistant Manager in Grade ‘A’ : TOTAL POSTS - 110

  • General: 56
  • Legal: 20
  • IT: 22
  • Research: 4
  • Official Language: 3
  • Engineering (Electrical): 2
  • Engineering (Civil): 3

(1) Important Dates :

  • Application Registration and Payment of Online Fees/Intimation Charges: October 30, 2025 – November 28, 2025
  • Phase I – Online Examination: January 10, 2026
  • Phase II – Online Examination: February 21, 2026
  • Phase III Interview: Dates will be intimated

(2) Eligibility Criteria :

Educational Qualification: There are various posts/disciplines. Refer to the notification for eligibility criteria.

Age (as on 30.09.2025): A candidate must not have exceeded the age of 30 years as on September 30, 2025 i.e., candidate must have been born on or after October 01, 1995.

(3) Selection Procedure :

The selection will be in three phases as explained below.

(a) Prelim Exam Pattern :

An online screening examination consisting of two papers (Multiple Choice questions of 100 marks each) will be held on January 10, 2026. The exam will consist of:

Paper Streams/ Subjects Max. Marks Duration (Min.) Cut off
Paper 1 All Streams: Multiple choice questions on the subjects viz. General Awareness (including some questions related to Financial Sector of easy to moderate difficulty level), English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Test of Reasoning. 100 60 30%
Paper 2 General Stream: Multiple choice questions on subjects Commerce, Accountancy, Management, Finance, Costing, Companies Act and Economics.
Legal Stream, Research Stream, Engineering (Electrical) Stream, Engineering (Civil) Stream, Official Language Stream and Information Technology Stream: Multiple choice questions on Specialized subject related to stream.
100 40 40%
Aggregate Cut off 40%

(b) Phase II On-Line Examination:

An online examination consisting of two papers of 100 marks each will be held on February 21, 2026. The papers shall be as follows:

Paper 1 All streams: English (Descriptive Test) to test the drafting skills 100 100 30% 1/3rd
Paper 2 General Stream: Multiple choice questions on subjects Commerce, Accountancy, Management, Finance, Costing, Companies Act and Economics.
Legal Stream: 70 Multiple choice questions of one mark each on Specialized subject related to stream.
3 Descriptive Questions of 10 marks each on Specialized subject related to stream (Answers to be typed with the help of the keyboard. Candidates opting to type the answers in Hindi, may type with the help of either: (i) Inscript or (ii) Remington (GAIL) keyboards layout).
Information Technology Stream: Multiple choice questions on mix of logic flow completion, debugging, syntax understanding, program dry run outputs, data analysis, etc.
Research Stream: Descriptive exam to test practical in-depth knowledge and drafting skills in economics, financial markets and statistics.
Official Language Stream: Descriptive questions (typed answers in Hindi allowed using Inscript/Remington (GAIL) keyboards).
Engineering (Electrical) Stream: Multiple choice questions on Specialized subject related to stream.
Engineering (Civil) Stream: Multiple choice questions on Specialized subject related to stream.

Aggregate Cut off 50%
  • There shall be negative marking (1/4th of marks assigned to the question) for Paper 1 and Paper 2 in Phase I.
  • There shall be a cut-off of minimum 30% for Paper 1 (no sectional cut-off) and a cut-off of minimum 40% for Paper 2 in Phase I.
  • Candidates must secure separate cut-off in each paper as mentioned above and an aggregate cut-off of 40% in Phase I to be shortlisted for Phase II.
  • Marks obtained in Phase I are only for shortlisting candidates for Phase II and will not count towards final selection.
  • Candidates clearing Phase I will be shortlisted for Phase II. List of shortlisted candidates will be available on SEBI website.

(c) Interview : 15 Marks
