RRB Recruitment - 1,03, 769 Level I ( Grade D) posts

Another big recruitment notification by railways !! With in a couple of days of announcing 48,000+ posts (NTPC, Paramedical, Ministerial & Isolated Categories) Railwyas has now announced 1,03,769 Level 1 vacancies.

The posts which come under this category are : Assistants in various departments ( Workshop, Stores, Electrical, Locoshed, C & W, TL & AC,), HOSPITAL ASSISTANT, TRACK MAINTAINER GRADE IV, ASSISTANT POINTSMAN.

(A) Important Dates :

  • Opening of online registration of Applications: 12.03.2019
  • Closing of online registration of Applications : 12.04.2019
  • Final submission of Applications : 26.04.2019
  • Computer Based Test (CBT) : Tentative schedule Sep – Oct 201918

(B) Eligibility Criteria :

  • Age (as on 01.07.2019): 18 - 33 Years
  • Educational Qualification : For most of the posts : 10th pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT (OR) 10th pass plus ITI from institutions recognised by NCVT/SCVT, while for a few posts it is 10th pass OR ITI
  • CANDIDATES WAITING FOR RESULTS OF PRESCRIBED EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION SHOULD NOT APPLY.

(D) Stages of Exam:

The exam shall be Computer Based Test (CBT). Railway Administration reserves the right to conduct the CBT in either single or multi stage mode. Candidates qualifying in the CBT shall have to undergo Physical Efficiency Test (PET). It will be followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination.

(E) Computer Based Test (Objective) :

The examination duration and number of questions for CBT are indicated below:

The section wise distribution given in the above table is only indicative and there may be some variation in the actual question paper. There will be negative marking and 1/3 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer

(F) Question Type and Syllabus:

The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions pertaining to:

a. Mathematics : Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.

b. General Intelligence and reasoning : Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.

c. General Science : The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level (CBSE).

d. General Awareness on current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subject of importance.

Negative Marking: There shall be negative marking for incorrect answers in the CBT. 1/3 of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for wrong answer

(G) Application Fee :

  • SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / PwBDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class : Rs 250/-

    This fee of Rs 250 shall be refunded to their bank account duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in CBT

  • Others: Rs 500

    Out of this fee of `500/- an amount of Rs 400/- shall be refunded to their bank account duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in CBT.
