Punjab and Sind Bank has released the detailed notification for the recruitment of 1000 Local Bank Officer (Junior Management Grade Scale-I). 

(A) Important Dates : 

Online Registration commences from : 31.03.2026

Last Date for Online Registration :  20.04.2026    

(B) Important Points:

• This post is equivalent to PO Scale I.

• Number of vacancies: 1000.       

• Application window: 31st March to 20th April 2026.

• Vacancies are in 17 states and are announced state wise.

• Candidates can apply for the vacancy of one state only.

• Merit list will be drawn state-wise.

• The selected candidate shall be posted within the State against whose vacancy they are selected up to their promotion to SMGS-IV or 12 years of service, whichever is earlier.

• Selection Procedure:  (1) Written Test  (2) Screening  (3) Personal Interview (4) Final Merit List (5) Proficiency in Local Language (6) Final Selection  

(C) Eligibility : (as on 01.03.2026)

Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Age : Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 30 years i.e. A Candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.03.1996 and not later than 01.03.2006 (both dates inclusive)

(D) Selection Procedure :    

Online Examination / Test:

(I) Structure of the Examination:

The minimum qualifying marks/percentage of marks in each of the section would be 40% for Unreserved & EWS Category and 35% for Reserved Categories

Candidates are required to obtain a minimum score in each test /section and also a minimum total score in the online test to be shortlisted for Interview  

Language Proficiency Test (LPT):  

The candidates applying for the position of LBO of a particular state, should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking) in any one of the specified local languages of that State as mentioned in this notification. Candidates shortlisted through the online written test will have to appear in the local proficiency test, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for personal interview and thus their candidature will not be considered for further selection process.

Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ certificate evidencing having studied the local language will not be required to undergo the language test.  

Personal Interview (PI):

The combined final scores of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in Online test (70% weightage) and Personal Interview (30% weightage). 

Marks obtained in written test shall be (out of 120) shall be converted to out of 70 marks and interview scores of candidates (out of 50) shall be converted to out of 30 marks

(E) Application Fee : 

GEN/EWS/OBC: 850 + Applicable Taxes + Payment Gateway Charges

For SC/ST/PwBD Candidates: 100 + Applicable Taxes + Payment Gateway Charges
