The first SNAP 2022 exam was conducted on 10th Dec 2022 (Saturday) between 2 pm to 3 pm. The test was similar in structure to the SNAPs of the last two years, with 60 questions to be answered in 60 minutes.
The overall difficulty level of the exam was higher as compared to the SNAPs of the last two years.
The test pattern is as below:

There were no sectional cut-offs no sectional time limits. Navigation across the sections was allowed. There was a negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer.
The test was, overall, slightly tougher than that of the last year, despite the English section being slightly easier. Let us look at the individual sections in detail.
General English
The section had a total of 15 questions
The distribution of the questions area-wise was as under:
Question Type |
No. of Questions |
---|---|
Grammar based |
10 |
Vocabulary based |
5 |
Total |
15 |
The Grammar based questions contained Fill in the blank questions where students needed to pick the correct preposition/conjunction/Adverb or adverb, questions on reported speech/object, identifying the grammatically correct sentence etc.
Vocabulary questions were on identifying compound nouns, spelling, prefix and synonyms.
There were no para-based questions this year, unlike the SNAPs of the last two years.
This helped in pushing the difficulty level down in this section.
A score of 13 +/- 1 can be considered to be a good score in this section.
Analytical & Logical Reasoning
The Analytical and Logical Reasoning section had a good number of easy questions.
There were 25 questions in all. The level of the section could be pegged at a moderate level. It was not as easy as it was in the previous year.
The distribution of questions in the section was as below:

Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency
The QA section had a representation from a wide range of topics, as shown below. While there were easy questions for easy picking, there were tough ones too and those who avoided these could have managed to score well, given that the average time per questions is only one minute and that getting stuck in any question was not an option.
There were 20 questions in this section. The distribution of the questions from various areas is as below:

Cut-Offs: An overall score of 40-42 should be a good score for SIBM Pune, and 38-40 for SCMHRD.
Note: The above-mentioned estimated cut-offs are for general category students, the cut-offs for SC/ST/DA/Kashmiri migrants will be lower.
